Well, I hope people, regardless of political persuation, are availing themselves of the opportunity to let Obama's transition team know what they think. I have - a couple of times (on two separate, but related, issues), and will continue to do so.

Well, if by that one could say it's a nice gesture, then, yeah. It's a nice gesture.
But as Captain Kirk said in an episode of classic Star Trek, "One of the priviledges of being the Captain is asking for advice without necessarily having to take it."

Madre, you are the only person I know whose political and economic POV is seriously informed by Star Trek :).
The only point I would make in response to your comment, possibly in violation of my own guidelines for this post, is that Kirk never had to run for election (or re-election).
