Back in South Carolina as of late yesterday. What is that, 19 days? Junior is deposited in Chicago and has begun classes. She has an apartment (appropriately blessed) and her financial aid issues have been straightened out, but she still needs to find a job. All prayers for her, for her mother, and for me are sought and welcomed. In that order, I might add. Anyway, more about that later.
Today is the feastday of St. Moses the African, a 4th-century Ethiopian who went from being a thug and a gang leader to becoming a monk, a priest, and finally, a martyr. You can read more about him here on Fr. Joseph Huneycutt's blog, Orthodixie.

I share my worldly birthday with St. Moses' feast day. As a pacifist, his response to the impending arrival of hostiles is an encouragement to me.

Fr. Rob, good to hear from you. I had hoped to be able to catch up with you and your bride when we were up North, but the time got away from us, since it took us two weeks to find Cary an apartment in Chicago.

Thanks for asking, Ttony. Yes, I'm still here. I returned from Chicago to discover that I no longer had a secular job, which, given that I receive no compensation from the Church, meant that I had to get a new one ASAP. That has happened, Deo gratias, but there is, of course, an adjustment period. Also, probably because of that, the muse has been fairly silent. However, I think I will be able to post something tomorrow (Tuesday).
